Burst Artes
*Divine Wolf: Yuri punches the ground, then rampages toward the enemy with constant slashes.

*Depending on the weapon he has equipped, if it has any elemental substance within it, he can use it to change his Burst Arte, an example would be "Divine Wolf - Blaze" which adds fire to his original Burst Arte, ending with an explosion of fire on the enemy. For more information, please check the Arte Exhibition at the bottom for demonstrations of each Arte, showcasing each one individually.

"Divine Wolf - Flood" "Divine Wolf - Crush" "Divine Wolf - Storm" Are the other varying BA's for Yuri. In RP, I'll be using normal "Divine Wolf," in most cases.

Mystic Artes
Savage Wolf Fury: Yuri slashes the opponent from different angles as he dashes around them. As the assault continues, his strikes become more fluent and brutal. Soon, the enemy is being sliced from 4 different points within a second. Yuri then finishes with a large slash through the center of the field, which causes an outburst of energy.
Tenshou Kouyokuken (PS3-only): Yuri grabs the Vesperia 2nd and begins charging it with energy. He then creates a giant feather that extends from the tip of his blade. After a moment of concentration, he slams it onto the foe, causing a uproar of Light.
Bushin Soutenha (PS3-only): Both Yuri and Flynn create a giant glyph around the enemy with their blades, then rush through the center target. They then both leap into the air, and ready themselves for a team slash. After their swords clash, the tips create an enormous sky wave than falls onto the glyph, dealing extreme amounts of damage to everything inside.

Skills
This section will not contain all of Yuri's skills, mainly because Yuri gets pretty broken when it comes to them. Just the skill Glory alone makes it pretty difficult to actually hurt him. So I'll be putting in skills that are default to Yuri instead.

Backstep: Self-explanatory. Yuri hops backwards. Also applies "Landing Step" which allows him to backstep as much as he could want.
Special: Required to activate Mystic Artes, in Overlimit Lv.3 or above.
Step Combo: During backstep, he can do a jump attack.
Critical Guard: Moves forward while guarding, can be treated as a sort of parry or special guard that decreases damage received.
Magic Guard: Prepares a blue sphere around him to block efficiently from magic/elemental attacks.

Overlimit
A special skill that allows Yuri to enter a state where he releases greater power much different from before. He learns this technique from the Imperial Knights. It has four different levels:

Lv. 1 - For a limited time, can attack endlessly and enables the use of Burst Artes.
Lv. 2 - Stacks on Lv. 1, more damage dealt to downed enemies.
Lv. 3 - Stacks on Lv. 2 and 1, enables Mystic Arte use and Artes do not require any TP, or "energy."
Lv. 4 - Stacks on Lv. 3, 2, and 1, takes no damage and does not stagger.

Character Information:
Name: Yuri Lowell
Canon: Tales of Vesperia
Canon point: Directly after the end of Part 2.
Age: 21
Appearance: Mr. Lowell himself.
Yuri is not much to care how he looks as a part of society. He usually wears loose, open clothing for better movement in combat, as wearing heavier stuff just slows things down (he prefers to get things done rather quickly than to drag it out.). Even when he was in the knights, he tend to wear his uniform opened up, and when it called to equip armor, he usually lets the collar be open. If he is to wear formal clothes, he would probably try to keep things less tight on him unless it absolutely calls for it, or he gets forced to. Whichever comes first. He'll usually be always seen wearing this attire wherever he goes.

If one were to give a look at Yuri, they'd probably note his laid-back, slacker expression, and lead to thinking that he's nothing but bad news. Unfortunately, you can't actually tell what kind of person Yuri truly is based on first glance. It's hard to know what really goes on in his mind just by looking at him, unless of course you're fighting him. Anyone would notice how thrilled and happy Yuri looks during a good fight, and he doesn't even notice it himself.

Background: Wikia

Previous Game History: N/A

Personality: At first glance, you may see Yuri as something simple; a simple basic person on the outside. But actually, he's quite comparable to a maze. A maze that seems like you could finish it in 4 minutes flat, but then you find yourself trying to figure it out for a good 3 hours.

Yuri's true intentions and motivations are always up in the air and hidden behind lies, deception, and coldness. This is the "Yuri" he shows off to mostly everyone, in attempts to avoid doing things he'd rather let someone else do, or to get himself out of things he doesn't want to be in. This "Yuri" also shows his own sense of humor, which is shown by teasing and snark. He'll tease just to see what kind of reaction he'll get from you, and depending on what that might be, he'll either keep going with it from time to time and laugh at you, or ease up on it--he knows when to stop and doesn't take it so far. If you hang around this "Yuri" long enough, you'll find yourself either pulling your hair out over how simple and outspoken he puts out to be, or noticing how easy he truly is read. He's honestly an open book, just that it's a book you have to get used to reading.

Lazy as he is, he's also a quite the show-off. And there's no point in showing off something if it's not all that impressive. Yuri is fit and active, exercising as a hobby more than a chore. His Bodhi Blastia helps his fighting skills during battles, allowing him to use Artes that he didn't normally learn through the knights. Although he's good with a sword, he CAN fight without it, as shown in some of his Artes, like Brutal Fang (Mash that attack button for a flurry of fists to the face!). He can hold his own in a fight, even if the power difference is highly noticeable.

Bringing it up, Yuri also has a good idea of battle techniques. If Yuri sees an example of whatever it may be, chances are he'll pick up on the move if it proves of interest to him. In a matter of seconds. It's how he learned Fatal Strike from Clint, without him even knowing he taught it to him. He sometimes doesn't even need to see it, give him some notes on the arte, and he'll learn it through trial and error, or just Wild Mass Guessing. (See: Tiger Blade.)

He picks up information easily and is also capable of noticing things others don't.

With this "Yuri," anything that requires way too much thinking, he doesn't do unless he really has to. Although I say "this Yuri," this is probably where his true being is actually at. He doesn't like thinking too hard about things, and can't stand looking at something too long. He's not exactly book-smart either, as said by he himself during a sidequest with Giganto Monsters. If he doesn't completely understand something, he'll ask about it.

As strange and cynical as he is, there's another side to our current "Yuri" that may catch you off--he's oddly optimistic. Rarely. Given the situation and if his friends/people close to him are feeling down, he won't mind giving a pep talk or two. He's not full of happy and cheer, but he'll give you the good side of things in attempt to cheer you up. Of course, this is if he likes you enough.

It is also really hard to break this guy. At the most, you can anger him, but it'd be a hundred years before you could break him. He doesn't let most things try to drag him down, and instead pushes forward. What's done is done, and we have to move on. He also can be pretty happy during the most darkest things, as Duke even comments on that during the final moments before the final battle begins.

Although he may do things like that, this actually leads into another part of Yuri to delve into. This "Yuri" has a large self-esteem issue, placing others as far more important than he himself. This is the "Yuri" that you find beyond the slacker he plays, and isn't shown to much of anyone. He can't take a compliment without completely handwaving it, and he doesn't like it when people are worried about him. He thinks that there's bigger and better things to worry about than someone like him, but despite all this, he's actually quite the worry-wart himself. Of course, he won't show it, but if he were to ask if you're okay, he probably actually means "Oh my God, are you alright don't do that again god you're an idiot let me find some bandages for you are you hungry here I'll carry you you didn't break anything did you"

Funny enough, taking our Yuris into account, there's one more hidden "Yuri" that isn't ever seen to light unless under heavy circumstances. This is the dark side of himself, or rather the "take matters into your own hands, may it be just or unjust" side of him.

There's no bad intentions. Yuri believes that the corruption and power of the royalty/empire has gone on long enough. He has decided to take matters into his own hands if need be. He's seen what laws can do, and how people who're evil can just get away with being evil. They can do whatever they want--punish the innocent knowing that they can't do much to them. Yuri absolutely despises that, driving to "dirty his hands" by killing the evil that the law doesn't deal with. Although he knows that he's becoming what he hates the most, becoming a criminal in the eyes of everyone is something he doesn't care about. The only thing he does care about are the people. If someone can be saved by his actions, he'll be okay with whatever happens to him afterwards. You could say he has a strong sense of justice, even if it is a sort of an "out of whack" kind of justice.

"How would you go about punishing the villains that the law can't touch?"

As weird and dorky as this guy is, we can't forget that he's bone and flesh. Although he's not going down without a fight, you CAN indeed take this guy down. He's no monster or beast. As a human, taking him on under certain conditions around him do matter, as shown after the Outbreaker fight in the desert; the whole cast couldn't stand from it due to heat and drought, including Yuri himself.

All considering, he really, really cares about the people around him. The happy face he puts up is a huge facade, and you rarely ever know if Yuri is truly upset or not. He just doesn't want anyone worrying about him when there's bigger problems to be worried about, and usually, he doesn't need anyone worrying. He can solve his own problems himself he thinks, and if he can't, he'll keep it to himself. Or maybe even do both (See: I killed Ragou and Cumore and none of you have to hear about it.). Man's got a lot of pride, and he'd be damned to let go of it easily.

Skills and Powers: If you're ever in a fight with Yuri Lowell, you best have had everything you had planned canceled just for that fight. Even if the odds are against him, and it shows and he even knows it, he's not going down without a good, long fight. There's no doubt about it that Yuri is really tough and fights are just another thing in his life for him. As mentioned, he was trained by the Imperial Knights the ways of a sword, not to mention he and his friend Flynn practiced sword fighting when they were kids. To say the least, he knows his way around a blade, and he doesn't really need to use it sometimes either, as he's good with his hands as well. Thanks to Niren, Yuri also has a Bodhi Blastia, which allows him to use Artes and other abilities and improves his fighting even more so.

He also knows how to cook really well. What a guy.

As the game terminology implies, Artes are special physical attacks or magic that allows the user to become more dangerous in the heat of battle. Yuri's not much for magic, although he can learn it if he actually studied the formula for it. Most of his artes are physical, however he knows some elemental artes as well. For more info, see my reference page here!

Items: Yuri will be taking his Bodhi Blastia (the bracelet he wears on his wrist), Second Star (The name of the sword he carries), and his loyal companion, Repede.

Here's his mirror!

So, does anyone actually know what these Weaver people are exactly? [Quick and straight to the point as the feed turns on.]

That Innocence girl really takes the life out of someone...maybe that's why she's called that. Although I've only met her, I hear there's more than just one or two of them. Anyone wanna fill me in? I'd appreciate it.

Also, as a reminder, I haven't forgotten. And I hope you haven't either.

You know who you are.

[The feed then shuts off, more or less leaving a less-tasteful end to it.

He doesn't really know how to filter.

Third Person Prose:
A swing can be literally heard from around the vicinity. Armor clanks behind it, possibly leading to a voice that can be heard, varying from "That was a close one..." to grunts and struggle. There was only one voice though, as the opposing person chose not to speak, and let his armor do the talking.

And halberd.

Yuri swiftly dodges his attacks, gathering many "close calls," as his wounds show. As heavy as his opponent is, the way he swings his weapon is admirable. How can someone heavily equipped hit dead on the mark like that? Yuri smirks, keeping his distance away from the man in armor. He had picked himself a fight with one of the City Guards. No one knows how this fight started, but rumor has it he merely wanted to see how good of a job our man in clad actually is. He figured it's all a dream, so no real punishment could come out of it. Or maybe he just wanted a fight. Who knows?

One fact though, was that someone overheard someone else saying, "What happened to just accepting orders and wagging that tail of yours, huh?" before the brawl occurred. Only an observation, but something to think about.

He finds himself in the heat of trouble, with the occasional "this is bad" coming to his head. Even when he does get a clean solid hit on the body, he can't seem to stagger it down. "This can't be just any type of knight...damn, did I get myself into it now."

This won't mean Yuri will back down and run away though. He's gonna keep this up until either someone cuts in between the two, or one can't go on anymore. He notes an opening and swiftfully takes charge and attacks, backstepping to keep his distance directly after.

"Still nothing..." Yuri glances at the guard, keeping his stance. He lays a smile on his face. He didn't have any ideas to work from, nor did he have any ways to break his defense.

So why did he smile, so suddenly?

He was just having too much of a good time to let it slip by.

Character

Name: Yuri Lowell
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Gender: Male
Age: 21
Time Period: Directly after collapsing in the desert, after the battle against Outbreaker
Wing Color: Black
History: Wikia
Personality: Due to the nobility treating the Lower Quarter like the dirt on the soles on their really nice boots, Yuri has grown to be a cynical bastard who also speaks sarcasm very fluently. He gives off that he doesn’t have a care in the world, being calm and thinking highly rational in any given situation. Relaxed, one would say. But once you really get to know him better he’s really caring and would do anything to protect someone. He mostly comes off as a big brother figure, and will not sit there and watch if someone’s in danger and he’s right there. He has a sort of grudge for nobles, and honestly who can blame him? They abuse their power and it’s sickening to him, so he high distrust for any nobles. If you happen to apart of any military, no matter what rank you are or how special you think you may be because of it, he’ll talk to you like you’re no different from any other guy. He doesn’t really know how to show manners, unless given circumstances.

He also has a high habit of teasing people, regardless of the atmosphere around him. Mainly though, he’ll do it in serious situations just to ease it out a bit. Otherwise, he’ll just do it if he’s bored enough or based on if he’ll always get a good reaction out of you. He doesn’t do pranks often, but if everything is already in place and he puts two and two together, he’ll put you in a situation to where you’ll inevitably fall into it. Although, he’ll soften it up a bit afterwards by…teasing, but that teasing usually gives you a way out of embarrassment.

Yuri’s strong sense of justice will be called by some “out of whack.” His simple way of thinking usually helps with his type of justice. If a man makes people suffer and no judicial system punishment or just any punishment in general has been given, Yuri will deal with him personally, dirtying his own hands. If protecting the innocent people of Terca Lumireis means that he has to become a murderer, a common criminal, or a traitor in the eyes of everyone, then so be it. He’ll accept any titles given to him by society. Although, it’s always in the back of his mind, that if he keeps this up, he might slowly become exactly who he hates the most. It frightens him to a degree but he keeps his cool about it, keeping his composure straight and doesn’t let sight of what’s he’s trying to gain.

“You can only see Yuri truly happy when he’s fighting,” is something along the lines that Flynn says about Yuri. This is true. He really enjoys fighting, it gives him exercise and, it’s fun to him. It’s almost sort of like a hobby for him, if you were to name one.

Yuri also enjoys hinting to everyone that he can in fact; understand what Repede is ever saying to him. It’s never exactly known if he can or not, but odds are he guesses to his best ability and usually gets lucky and understood it right. He’ll also treat you just like family if you ever get real close to him. If you need advice or support you name it, he’ll be there to give. If you’re young and close to him, he’ll give you confidence and encouragement. There’s also the inevitable teasing but that’s just his way of showing he cares. A bit. Maybe.

He has a bit of a sweet tooth and has a thing for cat ears. Most indefinitely, his favorite dessert is crepes. He can also cook very well. Since he stayed at an inn in Zaphias, a lady who ran the inn taught him how to cook. Estelle was very pleased with his cooking skills when Yuri had to make food for her. One time, Yuri had made croquettes for the party and they were highly impressed. When asked what the secret was, he said “love,” causing the party to react very hilariously in Yuri’s opinion.

He has a dislike of compliments and people who are appreciative of his good deeds when he does them. He has this weird thought that he shouldn’t be thanked for whatever he’s done, to the point where he even gives Flynn credit for what Brave Vesperia has done. He’s highly uncomfortable when people give gifts to him and he doesn’t accept them when offered, unless forcefully given. He tends to get embarrassed a bit when people thank him to a high degree and slowly tries to get off that subject and go onto something else. Some would call it being a gentleman; others may just call it strange.

Strengths:

Physical: As lazy as he seems, he's also a quite the show-off. And there's no point in showing off something if it's not all that impressive. Yuri is fit and active, exercising as a hobby more than a chore. He can hold his own in a fight, even if the power difference is highly noticeable. He won't go down without a fight, and hell, he'd probably want to be smacked around a little anyway.

Might bring some more fun to the table.

Mental: He's a genius.

Okay, there's a catch. He's a genius only in the mindset of fighting. You can talk all you want about learning this crazy, crazy move that took years for you to master, if Yuri sees an example of it, chances are he'll pick up on the move if it proves of interest to him. In a matter of seconds. It's how he learned Fatal Strike from Clint, without him even knowing he taught it to him. He sometimes doesn't even need to see it. Samples (ALL samples must be set in Luceti-verse.)

First Person: This isn't what I imagined my Hell would be like. Aren't there supposed to be...eternal burning or something? ...Well, I guess that's where the wings come in.

...Alright, this has got to be a joke. I appreciate the whole saving my life deal, but I didn't sign up to play with angels. ...Of course, this is assuming my life was actually saved. [He takes a breath.]

Seems like I'm just complaining now. This book's supposed to be some kind of communicator, isn't it? Anyone wanna do some explaining for me? I'd appreciate it.

Also...I don't particularly like freezing to death. Anyway I can get my clothes too? Geez, what a thing to get myself into...

Third Person: He was ready to face fate.

He was ready to face the fate he was given. To die in the desert isn't exactly the most appealing death, but he wasn't one to complain. Bracing himself, he was just caught in a train of bad luck.

Or so he thought.

Waking up with wings on your back was never the best way to jolt yourself up, especially after such a situation like that. It was only natural to think one had died, wasn't it? That thought was only short-lived, as the pain on his back was more concerning than anything. Not to mention his lack of clothes.

"Black, huh. Fitting." He remains coy to himself, before noticing the book lying before him. Staring, he flips through it. Maybe there's a note from his royal savior in there, or something that'll tell him what exactly is going on. No surprise, it's all blank. Looking more at it though, it seems more like a device than a normal diary.

"...This might be useful." Normally, he might've just left it there, but something was telling him to hold onto it. In the meantime, he planned to give it a better look in a different setting, listening to only his gut, no matter how crazy it truly seemed. To him, and in general.

"Damn, these things hurt. Do angels always have these problems?" He lays next to a tree under the shade, taking a good look at the flimsy cover, "Judging by the looks of things, I don't think this is powered by any blastia. ...I don't think there's a Barrier Blastia here either. Just what the hell is going on..." He ponders, nothing is making sense to him and he's thinking too much than he would want. "Damn, this is not funny..."

Putting the journal down next to him, he stops and realizes...

What exactly happened to everyone else?
